OKEHAMPTON Golf Club on Saturday saw competitors produce some superb golf in the individual medal competition which was also the second round of the club championship.

Gareth Holt was crowned as the 2016 club champion after two superb rounds of golf of gross 69 and 67 over two weekends, which also saw him win the 36 hole handicap Hutchings Cup. The club congratulated Gareth, who retains his title.

They also congratulated Jonathan Mansell and Kevin Cornwall, who both shot a gross 66, which is a new course record and came second and third respectively in the club championship. 15 year- old Henry Harbron played superbly to take runners-up spot in the 36 hole Hutchings Cup.

The winners of the individual medal were, in division one Jonathan Mansell with gross 66 nett 61 on the back nine from Kevin Cornwall in second who also shot a gross 66 nett 61; Gareth Holt took third place with nett 63.

Division two was won by Paul Fewings with nett 63 and Paul Rogers was second with nett 64; Ashley Arscott took third place with nett 65. Ben Ford was the winner of division three with nett 62 closely followed into second by Jonathan Tatman, who scored nett 63. Andrew Rogers claimed third position with nett 67 after countback.
