THE qualifying competition for the Daily Mail Foursomes was held at the weekend at Okehampton Golf Club and the winners, with an excellent nett 62, was the duo of Pete Murphy and Matt Mills. They will now go on to represent the club in the next round.

Kevin Cornwall and Alan Searle were second with nett 65.5 and Malcolm Hooper and Rob Green were third with nett 68.

The ladies’ section also played a foursomes com-petition for the Molly Grant Salver and the winners were Anne Brokenbrow and Maggie Caws with 28 points on the back nine from, in second, Cherry James and Mary Keir also with 28pts.

Francis Harbron and Elaine Marwood took third place with 26pts.
