ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club a fourball better ball Stableford competition was held and the winners of division one with an impressive 47 points were Keith Harvey and Alan Lawson.

In second place were Alan Searle and Gary Carey with 45pts, Steve Rice and Kevin Perryman were third with 43pts and Malcolm Hooper and Richard Prouse were fourth with 42pts.

Division two was won by Stuart Brealy and Bill Tucker with 42pts; in second were Paul and Andrew Rogers with 41pts narrowly beating Vick Marks and David Stanbury on the back six and Andrew Sinclair and Eric Pengelly on the back nine.

This week the lady captain’s team took on the lady vice-captain’s team playing in pairs. With one score to count the captains’ team winning by just one point.

The highest scoring pair of he day were Janice Thwaites and Di Johnson with 47pts and in second were Lorna Evans and Maggie Caws with 45pts.
