YELVERTON Golf Club ladies played a two day Stableford competition, the Salz Trophy.

  The competition was won by Christine Perkins  on 83 points and runner-up was Sally Hills, on 70pts, who won The Emerson Cup

Fourteen pairs battled it out in a fun, match play competition for a porcelain trophy presented by Mrs Ruth Marshall. The captains’ team wore pink and the secretary’ team wore blue.

The secretary’s team (blue) with eight and a half points beat the the captain’s team (pink) on five and a half.

The Cyril Baker knockout challenge begins when the best eight scores (handicap maximum 24) from the May Medal are drawn to qualify for the match play knockout.

The finalists were Penny Hunter and Sally Hills. They had a very close match battling away until finally Penny won on the 20th hole.
