TWO Lifton residents, Gary Chater and Kevin Marshall (pictured right) are running this year's London marathon in April.

It will be Gary's first marathon and he said 'the training is going well and I am really looking forward to it. It will be a completely new experience for me.'

They are raising funds towards the building of Lifton Community Centre, now that enough funds have been raised for the planning stage, thanks to Team Lifton and the villagers. In all building projects the villagers need to raise a certain percentage in order to be able to receive grant funding. So, Gary and Kevin are hoping their efforts will enable the next stage to get underway.
