Tavistock ladies 2
Bude seconds ladies 1
TAVISTOCK hockey ladies quickly applied the pressure and moved the ball around through the midfield of White, McClumpha, Langsford and Colston feeding the ball up to the front line. Despite the pressure Bude's defence held well and cleared the ball away from Tavistock's attack.
A speedy counter attack from Bude resulted in a short corner to the away side which they promptly converted with a superb reverse side flick which gave keeper Viggars no chance.
Tavistock now behind went on the offensive and attacks from Law, Gasper and Lamb came thick and fast. A penalty flick was awarded to the home side following an infringement right on the goal line. McClumpha stepped up to take the flick but the shot was just wide of the post.
In the second half Tavistock continued to work hard to keep possession, more penalty corners followed but still they could not scoret. Any attempts back from Bude to move the ball down the pitch were cut out by Mills Hicks, Cluckston and Boulle.
Tavistock were rewarded when a strong ball moved up the pitch from Boulle, to Langsford who crossed it in for Sarah Law, who finished it by drawing the keeper and slicing it past her for the equaliser. This was followed by another quick attack resulted in Lamb hitting the winner for the home team.
Tavistock were awarded with several more short corners and a penalty flick, which Boulle stepped up to take, but again this was kept out with a diving save from the Bude keeper.
