BRISLINGTON 1

TAVISTOCK AFC 7

TAVISTOCK AFC put their disappointing loss in the F A Vase the previous week with a convincing victory in Bristol.

They were without the suspended Tom Strike but Warren Dawe was able to slot into the back four.

It was almost the perfect start for the visitors but Josh Grant’s effort came back off a post from Dave Hallett’s corner. The Lambs continued to have the upper hand in the opening stages.

A good run from Jack Crago saw him cut in from the wing to see his effort go over the bar before the Lambs deservedly took the lead on 20 minutes. Calum Watson found Crago down the wing to send in a low cross for Jordan Annear to arrive at the near post to flick home. Minutes later it was two as Annear clipped the ball into the area for Grant to send a looping header over the home goalkeeper.

Brislington got themselves back into the game when from an indirect free kick the ball was touched to Neil Plummer to drive the ball past the wall and low into the net.

The game changed with 10 minutes of the half remaining, Plummer was cautioned but his brother Tristan had too much to say to the official and was sent off.

The Lambs took advantage of the extra man as Watson set up Annear to send in a snap shot at the keeper; they forced a couple of corners before Ben Cross sent in a cross for Crago to head back across goal to allow Grant to slot home. Moments later it was four as Grant and Crago combined for the latter to find the net.

Tavistock continued their fine form at the start of the second half dominating their opponents with their fluent football. They added to the home side’s misery when on the hour Dan Evans rose to head home a Hallett corner. Ten minutes later the impressive Watson picked the ball up in midfield to stride forward to send in a low shot that found the net to make it 6-1. The Lambs were not finished as within minutes it was Crago who picked the ball up in midfield and strode forward to hit the ball high into the net to make it a magnificent seven.

This was a superb display from the whole Tavistock squad, who dominated from start to finish with Watson gaining a deserved man of the match.
