TIMES Sport was sad to hear of the death of Peter Langman, aged 91, a fine footballer who played for Bere Alston, Tavistock AFC, Plymouth Argyle and Weymouth Town.
Bere Alston born Peter played at centre half, many a time alongside his younger brother Neil. He left the Lambs to join Plymouth Argyle in 1951 and went on to make 90 appearances for the Pilgrims. Neil, a goalscoring forward, later joined his elder brother at Home Park and they played 46 games together in the 1950s.
Derek Pethick, a spokesman for Tavistock AFC, said: ‘Peter had that extra bit of class that stood out, so it came as no surprise when he was signed by Plymouth Argyle.’
