TAVISTOCK’S U11s team continued their run of unbeaten form this weekend,with an outstanding win in the Devon Junior Minor cup quarter finals.
Tavistock showed their strength from the beginning scoring 12 goals in the first half.
Owen Hicks got the visitors off the mark with a goal from Joe Short’s well placed corner.
Luke Tyler took the second with a great assist from Sam Brereton. Player of the match Joe Short’s first goal was an impressive overhead shot from just in front of the halfway line.
Tavistock seemed unstoppable with the goals coming thick and fast. Matthew Brimacombe showed some excellent midfield play, setting up several more goals. Finn Clarke provided determined defence as well as some strong attacking play.
Luke hit three more goals and Owen and Joe scored another goal apiece before finally the home team managed two of their own. A penalty for each side brought the scores up further. Two more goals for Joe and one from Sammy Short and Ollie Mack brought the half time total to 12-3 in Tavistock’s favour.
The second half proved to be an entirely different game as the home team were trying to fight back. Tavistock finally found their feet again with a goal for George McLaughlin and two more for Sammy S.
