THE coming week is the biggest in Tavistock AFC ‘s history with the visit of two professional football clubs coming to Langsford Park.

On Saturday the club welcome Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams and his first team squad to Tavistock with a 3pm kick off.

This is followed by the biggest game ever played by the club when they host Neil Warnock’s Premiership side Cardiff City on Monday, July 16, kick-off 7pm.

Neil Warnock has been busy in the transfer market making new signings to add to his already very strong squad. He has signed free scoring Bobby Reid from Bristol City. He has also acquired the services of Irish International Greg Cunningham, along with Josh Murphy from Norwich City.

Tavistock AFC spokesman Derek Pethick said: ‘Local football fans should not miss this opportunity to see Premiership players playing their local team in what will be a great occasion. Two days prior to this, on July 14, Derek Adams brings his League One side Plymouth Argyle to Langsford Park. He has been really busy in the transfer market to strengthen his squad to make a real challenge for promotion to the Championship signing former Arsenal and England youth international Tafari Moore, defenders Scott Wotton, Jordan Bentley, Ashley Smith Brown, Nial Canavan and Peter Grant, midfielders Conor Grant, Callum Dyson, and strikers Fredrick Ladapo and Alex Battle.

These along with those who have stayed, the likes of Lamieris, Grant, Wilde, Sarcevic,Ness,and Carey will give a Argyle a very strong squad.

‘Everyone at Tavistock AFC wish Derek and his charges every success in the 2018/19 season. Kick off is 3 pm. This is an opportunity for local Argyle fans to have a chance to look at the new look team.’

Prior to this match the Argyle Legends take on the Tavistock Veterans, kick off 11.30 am.

The remaining friendlies are: On Wednesday, July 18 the Lambs take on Western League Plymouth Parkway, kick off 7.30pm; on Saturday, July 21 home to Bere Alston, kick-off 3pm; Friday, August 3, Tavistock AFC visit Bideford, kick-off 7.30pm. The South West Peninsula premier league gets under way on Tuesday, August 7 away at Goldolphin Atlantic, kick off 7.30pm.
