WITH their end of year fixtures rained off, ‘both Chagford Football Club teams will enter 2016 with different hopes for the new year’ says club secretary John Pearce.

He said:?‘The reserves will wish to dispel fears of relegation by putting an end to their indifferent form, by instilling some consistency and by continuing to supaport each other, as they have done thus far. A couple of decent results early in the year could make all the difference. A home fixture — against leaders Bickleigh Reserves — opens 2016, on January 2, kicks-off at 2.15pm.

‘The firsts will be seeking to extend their good run of results, that have seen them climb to third in their division. Six consecutive wins have done much to raise the team’s collective confidence, as have the 28 goals scored. They now stand just three points behind the leaders, Lapford, whom they beat last time out. A trip to Newton Poppleford on January 2 awaits, kick off 2.15pm.’
