TAVISTOCK CFC ladies were keen to turn around a 7-2 loss against them last month.

The game started evenly matched with both teams working hard and some great football played all round.

Tavistock’s first goal game from a long range shot by Rebecca McMullin which the keeper came close to saving but failed to hold.

The home side picked up the pace and continued to put the pressure on Feniton. Feniton broke through occasionally but the Tavistock defence remained solid; even with a goal line scramble, Feniton could not get on the score sheet.

Tavistock’s next goal not long followed with a ball in by Becky Turner; Heidi Davies headed it over a player to Rebecca McMullin, who scored the second just before half time.

After the interval the game remained quick, with Tavistock’s attacking players continuing to press on the Fenton players, with some superb runs down the wings. Feniton had a few shots and kept Tavistock on their toes but Tavistock held on to a 2-0 win and the second clean sheet in a row with a superb team performance.
