KICKBOXERS Richard Nye and his son George from North Tawton have both won places on the WKC England team after both qualifing last Sunday in Manchester.

George, aged 13, who gained a silver medal at the 2010 World Championship fought in the U50kg cadets class and won bronze.

His father Richard, who only started kickboxing nine months ago, was entered in the veterans section fighters.

Richard  46 who allready holds the WKC  all British  title for 2011 faced the world silver medallist in the first round then going onto win the gold. 

Richard and George train four times a week in exeter  and have built a fully kitted out gym at home.
