MATTHEW Henry from Coryton and coach at Dartmoor Darts — who train at Mount Kelly Swim Centre in Tavistock — had eight swimmers competing at the second weekend of the Devon County Championships at the Life Centre in Plymouth. 

Matthew himself was also competing. It was a true family affair as Matthew won the senior 50 metre breastroke champion-ship in 28.71 seconds and his nephew, Cameron Williams (14) took the junior 50m breaststroke championship in 30.03 a new junior record and 14 year-old record; he was also third in the senior championship. 

Cameron’s mum Jane was officiating during the championships as chief timekeeper.

Other medallists over the weekend from Dartmoor Darts were: Hollie Steer, Emily Morgan-Hughes, Matthew Plumb, Cameron Williams and Alice Chapman. 

The final weekend of the championships are February 3 and 4 at the Life Centre, Plymouth.
