FORTY three youngsters took part in the second round of the Tavistock Wheelers Go Ride Cyclo Cross race series at Lew Trenchard School, with almost as many girls as boys braving the chilly conditions.
Go Ride is British Cycling’s entry level form of racing, with an emphasis on enjoyment and a minimum of formality.
There were local wins for Tavistock Wheelers-North Shore Gallery riders Benjamin Creed and Eva Brown, while Ashley Adams, Orla White, Elsie Maguire, Orla Maguire, Tom Brown, Daniel Adams, Charlie Fletcher, James Pearcy, Will Cousins and Ella Cousins all received medals for achieving a first three placing in their age group category
Attention now turns to the third and final race in the series, at Sampford Spiney on Saturday, November 26.
Riders will be competing for series’ prizes provided by local tyre company Tyre and Wheel Services, whose owner, Lee Adams, is one of the region’s top cyclo cross riders and a member of the Tavistock Wheelers’ race team.
