THE last race in the Tavistock Wheelers’ Go Ride cyclo cross race series finished at Oakley Farm, Sampford Spiney with great success for local riders and introduced nine young riders to bike racing for the first time.

These were amongst 39 youngsters that took part in the day’s races In the overall series.

Tavistock Wheelers youth cycling had winners with Ben Creed (School Years 3/4 boys),  Elsie Maguire (Years 3/4, girls), Dan Adams (Years 5/6, boys), Orla Maguire (Years 5/6 girls) and Ella Cousins (Years 7/8/9 girls).

Prizes were sponsored by Lee Adams of Tyre and Wheel Services, himself a top regional cyclo cross rider.  Facilities were provided by the Hearn family at Oakley Farm.

All the new racers were offered the chance to join the local Go Ride Club and Tavistock Wheelers.
