TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club chairman Tony Boxall and members hosted the Tavistock Town Mayor, Councillor Sue Bailey and her consort, Pam Wheeler, for the beginning of their outdoor season. As is tradition, the Mayor bowled the first wood after which the club enjoyed a game of competitive bowls. There was an excellent tea to follow.

The club’s season now begins in earnest with league, county and inter club competitions in both ladies’ and men’s divisions.

Also the club is providing players for Bowls England and Bowls Devon competitions.
