Filleigh firsts

TAVISTOCK visited Filleigh on Saturday hoping to record a first victory for the season.

Filleigh batted first and accumulated runs steadily. Suker and Ashdown batted well to get 46 and 53 respectively.

Charlie Barriball took two wickets, as did Shaun Daymond and, although a good total of 224 was achieved, on a small ground this did not seem an impossible target.

However then Tavistock started badly, losing both Gray and Fidler for ducks.

Billy Barriball and Dom Snyman took the total to 166, but both were out quickly and the slump started. Only Sean Cleave with an aggressive 40 helped the cause and a disappointing total of 166 all out was achieved.

Two defeats in a row has left Tavistock second bottom and facing league leaders, Plymstock, on Saturday.
