TAVISTOCK entertained Yelverton at the Ring on Saturday on a great day for cricket. Yelverton (pictured in bat) totalled a useful 189-6 with a half century from Brian Spear and contributions Gerry Keen, 42, and James Casey, 22 gave the visitors 189-6 with Andy Gauler taking 2-24.

The home side reached the total required thanks to a 50 from Phil Bees, Sam Willetts, 33, and 24 from all-rounder Gauler. Tavistock, 18 points, beat Yelverton, 7pts, by three wickets.
