AS the playing season gradually winds down at Tavistock Golf Club there was high scoring in the annual Greenkeepers' trophy. 

The winner was Craig Howell with 44 points with  runner up junior Emmy Hoyte on 42pts and Tony McCleary with 41pts in third. 

In the Foster Ferris four ball better ball trophy scoring was close but the winners, Julian Collinson and Mike Roper, won with a nett 65; runners up were George and Nicky Gawman with nett 66.  Mike Sutcliffe who won the Barry Luckham trophy with 39 pts.

The ladies played their qualifying round in the Daily Mail Foursomes and the pair to represent the club will be Bridget Luckham and Lyn Swift with 34pts with runners up Margot Angel and Sue Pratley scoring 33pts.  

The monthly Stableford was played in conjunction with the Marilyn Allen Candlesticks - a competition for the best partners aggregate score. 

In division one Hilary Pictor had 34pts, second Maggie Hillman 31pts and third was Shirley Trevenna on 30pts.  Julie Harding was first in division two with 38pts, second was Gloria Westhead 36pts and in third place Gail Reed, 34pts.  In division three Sue Pratley scored 35pts with Jenny Kay on 34pts on countback from Val Jarman.  Winners of the candlesticks were Julie Harding and Gail Reed with a total of 72pts.  Runners up were Val Jarman and Jenny Kay with 68pts.   

The juniors played for the Hawkins Vase which was won by Will Stenhouse on nett 67; runner up was Mike Henderson with nett 71.
