FOLLOWING their county selection for the South West cross-country championships, for both the Devon and Cornwall teams, junior members of the Tavistock Athletic Club are now preparing for both the inter-counties championships as well as the regional schools championships.

This year the inter-counties event is being staged in Birmingham and junior members from the Tavistock club will be representing their respective counties in all the age-groups from the U13s event through to the U20 men's event.

In the schools cross-country championships many of the Tavistock juniors have now progressed to the regional level and will be confidently looking for subsequent selection for the prestigious English Schools championships.

The majority of the Tavistock junior cross-country athletes train with the Farah coaching group and pictured are the Farah group athletes preparing for the regular coaching session on a Tuesday evening.

The athletes who have achieved county selection include Christian Brown, Josh Carnell and Sam Lane-de-Courtin for Cornwall and Jordan Channon, James Best, Harrison Baker and Emily Attfield for Devon. Also selected for their county are Alice Rogers, Dean Smith, Jasmin Gray and Molly Rickwood.
