IN the Tavistock Snooker League Conservative C went down to consecutive 5-0 drubbings — this time at the hands of new leaders Conservative A.

There was little in this game for Con C to draw strength from other than that all players know they should and are able to play a lot better.

Cook started the Con A ball rolling with a strong potting display based around a nice 22 break leaving Wilkinson no chance. The A team's Bell summarily dispatched Roffey while Jago was no match for the A teams Evans who found a bit of form after recent setbacks.

Carruthers breezed past the C team's Hoar with the latter posting a mere four points on the board. A late rally from the C's Neale momentarily threatened to put a dominant Lacey off course but it was too little too late as Lacey resumed normal service to see the frame out in comfortable fashion and post a maximum five for his team.

The West Devon derby match saw the underdogs West Devon B run their 'big brothers' close before eventually going down 3-2. Hoare gave the B team a dream start taking out Taylor, only for a commanding display from Heathman drawing the teams level as he 'sank' Bath.

Rich restored order for the A side with a bit of a 'walk in the park' over Toland as the former amassed a massive 93 points. Emptage took the match for the A team with a first win of the season over Roger Rich.

The B team reduced the arrears with the display of the night from John Rich. He took control of his game against the highly fancied Morris and with a combination of good potting and sure safety, restrictrf Morris to 11 points, as the former went on to win the frame with some ease.
