OKEHAMPTON ladies' team earned a confidence boosting win against mid-table Exeter University to lift them off the bottom of the league table.

It was the home side who scored first through Joey Drake before the visitors equalised.

The lead was restored with a Hannah Whiteley goal as the home side went in at the interval 2-1 up.

A further goal for Drake gave Okehampton a cushion and they saw the game out to register their second win of the season.

Columbines' keeper Shannon Osmen was unfortunate after being forced off with a pulled ligament; Anna Cherington took her place in goal.
