RUNNERS in West Devon are being offered a chance to take part in this year's Virgin London Marathon in return for raising funds for St John Ambulance.
The charity has a few remaining guaranteed places available for the 2012 event that will take place on 22 April.
Runners need to pay a £100 deposit and pledge to raise a minimum of £1,625 for the charity.
Andrew Pratt, fundraiser for St John Ambulance in Devon, said: 'The Virgin London Marathon is one of the most exciting and impressive sporting events of the year and is always oversubscribed.
'By raising sponsorship money for St John Ambulance in the London Marathon 2012, you can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved,' added Andrew.
