THE 122nd annual meeting of Tavistock Golf Club took place this month when the new captains and vice captains for 2013 were elected.

The outgoing club captain, Richard Burrows, thanked the management committee, the lady captain and all the members for their tremendous help and support.  He wished the new club captain Richard Smith and the lady captain Patty Congo every success during their year.

Members praised Richard Burrows for all his efforts during his year - attending all the county matches, his support to all sections of the club and also for his wit and humour.  As the new club captain said to members 'What a hard act to follow!'

There were 117 entrants for the mens monthly Stableford and topping the first division was Rob Sleep with 37 points, second Stewart Wash 35pts and third was Dave John with 34pts.  Bill Phillott in division two also had 37pts followed closely by Rick Crawford with 36pts, third Gary Pumford 35pts.  In division three first was Keith Stenhouse 35pts, second Darren Sturman 34pts and with 32pts Pete Delaman in third.

Twelve brave ladies faced the strong icy winds in their Stableford with Lynn Swift pipping Sam Avens on countback with 32 pts; in third place was Liz Lyndon with 30pts.
