Tavistock ladies’ firsts 13
Penzance ladies 0
GOALS were certainly not an issue today in the Tavistock ladies’ fixture against Penzance.
Armstrong put the first goal on the score sheet within the first few minutes of the game and Shillaws opening goal followed shortly after from some superb linking of forwards Lamb and Gaspar.
The women worked hard to transfer the ball around the back line and had strict targets set by coach Fenwick, which the women aimed to achieve in the first half. Gaspar and Nevin added to the goal talley in the first half with well worked efforts across the team and polished finishes.
Tavistock dominated the first half of the game with a half time score of 9-0.
In the second half Penzance held off the home team for 20 minutes as their keeper kept their team out of danger with some solid saves. Tavistock won a number of corners however were kept at bay by the away team.
The home side soon found form again with another four goals finding the back of the net in the second half settling the final score as 13-0. This puts the ladies into third in the league by goal difference.
