YELVERTON Bowling Club’s annual fixture of Captain’s Day was enjoyed by members.

A £200 cheque was also presentated to Devon Air Ambulance Trust and made to their representative, Tony Cannon.

The money was raised on ‘Nick’s Day’ by the men’s section, a now annual event started by club member Nick Capel. The afternoon was rounded off with some great bowling as the sun shone with Heather Lock winning overall with a points score of 57 over 18 ends.

LAST Saturday saw the end of the outdoor bowling season for the youngsters of Yelverton Bowling Club’s new age and junior section.

All pictured, along with others, have enjoyed Saturday coaching at the club and everyone has made excellent progress.

Chris Pearn, the YBC president, was delighted to present attendance certificates and club badges to them all. They are now looking forward to a day of competition and fun at the Plymouth Life Centre bowling hall, next Sunday, representing YBC.

One senior YBC member said: ‘They’re good! We’d better watch out! How marvellous to see young people getting interested in bowling.’
