YELVERTON Bowling Club started the new bowling season off with a delivery of the first wood by club president Chris Pearn.

More than 40 bowlers, young and ’a little older’, were present to take part in a friendly match and were lucky to have the sun shining most of the afternoon.  

The club is looking forward to welcoming visiting bowling clubs from in and around Devon to their green which is looking good, thanks to the green manager and many willing helpers.  

On Saturday, April 30, from 10am the club will also be hosting its first public open day of the year so for anyone wishing to have a go at this enjoyable sport they would be delighted to see you at Meavy Lane, Yelverton.
