Tavistock began fast paced and at a good tempo with Becky McMullin and Els Mills-Hicks working hard to pass the ball around the field. Tavistock's first goal came from Becky McMullin who played it out to Sarah Martin on the right, who flicked a lofting ball which met the head of Becky Turner to put Tavistock ahead. The young Newton St Cyres team soon equalised by breaking through Tavistock's defence, catching the Tavistock players off guard and hitting the back of the net. Tavistock soon edged ahead once again with Sarah Blowey taking the ball from inside her own half and driving forwards into space and unleashing a 30 yard screamer, making it 2-1 to Tavistock. After half-time Tavistock's defence, Tania Coker, Carleigh Bammens, Laura Phillip and Lauren Schut-tkacker, continued to work hard to keep Newton St Cyres at bay. Tavistock's third came halfway through the second half, with a great corner from Sarah Blowey, to Kirsty Jones, who superbly directed a header into the back of the net. With no substitutes, Tavistock's legs were tiring, yet team spirt and work rate remained high with some great saves made by Zoe Stock. However, they could not avoid conceeding a second goal with ten minutes to go. With a great team performance, Tavistock managed to hold on for the remainder of the game for a 3-2 win to keep them at the top of the table and unbeaten in four games. Player of the match was awarded to Rebecca McMullin for an outstanding game.
