LAST weekend Members of Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) took part in the first ever Granite Way run which, with the assistance of Okehampton Running Club, was hosted by Exeter City Football Club.

It was a reasonably flat five mile out and back route along the cycle way from the Youth Hostel in Okehampton. Ten milers ran the course once and 20 milers twice.

First male Bat home in the 10 miler, third male and fourth overall was Steve Hill who secured his first trophy running his first event after coming back from injury.  

First lady was Sally Dunn who ran a really great time.

For the 20 miler, first male home for the team was Matt Luckham who ran sub three hours and first lady home and first in her age group was Christine Le Flem. 

Three lady Bats who ran also did well.
