YOUNG Tavistock diver Ben Bluett has just returned from Holland where he was selected to represent Plymouth Diving, in the Eindhoven Diving Cup 2014.

Ben, aged 9, was the youngest member of his team, who competed against 36 teams from 16 countries. This was Ben's first competition under full FINA rules and he dived eight times, including a twist on each board.

What made it even more of an achievement was that he had to dive in the 12-13 years age group, as this is the youngest category. Ben's first ever dive from the 7.5m platform in competition (due to his age) was impressive, ripping his entry and scoring 6, 8, 8, 7.5, 7 from the 5 judges.

He did superbly finishing 15th from 30 on the 1m board, 23rd from 34 on 3m and 16th from 24 on platform. Plymouth Diving finished a superb second overall beaten only by the Swiss who took their national team.
