THE past few weeks have seen members of Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) taking part in a number of events both at home and abroad with great results for all taking part.

The Dublin Marathon is an annual marathon in, normally held on the last Monday in October. A record 14,500 athletes took part in the 2013 Dublin Marathon which is run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, Ireland's capital city and is generally reasonably flat.

The weather was crisp with some gusty winds.

Taking part was another of the club's husband and wife teams, Paul and Rebecca Mingo. Both spent a lot of time and put in a huge amount of work and energy for Dublin and all this paid off with both achieving distance personal bests.
