NINETEEN Bere Alston Trekkers donned their off-road shoes to take part 6 Moor Miles on Sunday.
The event was organised by Plymouth Harriers and started and finished at Leg O’Mutton on the former RAF Harrowbeer and this year was raising funds for the Daisy Garland.
Set up in 2004 The Daisy Garland is a family-run, national, UK registered charity. Their aim is to offer help and support, in whatever way they can, to those whose lives are touched by drug resistant epilepsy.
Running across open moorland on a well marshalled course with water stations, the competitors were lucky enough to encounter some of the local wildlife (sheep, ponies, cows) all of whom were unphased by the efforts of the runners!
