BAT's Badminton Club are through to the final of the Plymouth and District Beckley Cup competition where they will play Tavistock.

After a bye in the first round BAT's played host to Devonshire Badminton Club in the second where they won 395-378 points.

In the semi-final BAT's played Ivybridge Badminton Club with Andrew Hall and Veronica O'Leary taking maximum points in four of their six games. James David and Hannah Kingman played consistently to gain valuable team points. With Celine injured but determined to play on Alan Berry, her partner, was left to do the running around and with the Ivybridge pairings unable to force home their advantage Alan and Celine gained many useful points for BATs. BATs won 405-348.

n TAVISTOCK Community Sports Centre no-strings badminton session is celebrating after two of its regular junior players came runners-up in the U14s age group at the recent Plymouth Junior Badminton Tournament.

Olivia Walker and Jemma McKensie were up against six other pairings and only lost against an experienced county player.
