JOINING in the Tavistock relays to help raise money for the Rotary club were ten teams from Bere Alston Trekkers and a team from the Saturday Ladies.

It was the first time that the Bats had taken part in a relay and they were more than good to go at the start of the 1.1 mile course with some running two legs to make up teams. 

All Bats were flying and there were some notable individual timings: Nathan Newton 5 minutes 36 seconds, James Coole 6.17, Phil King 7.11, Simon Griffiths 6.21, Linda Lawrence 6.53, Becky Mingo 6.27, Murray Turner 6.50, Ben Neale 5.33 and Julian Setterington 7.38

Taking part and winning the fun run was Fruit Bat Joe Setterington who ran a fabulous time of 8.20 to rapturous applause from the senior Bats who greeted him on the finish line.

Also taking part were a team from the Saturday Ladies' who ran a superb time of 33.43.

Bats will next be flying at the Six Moor Miles this Sunday, which starts and finishes at Leg O'Mutton, Yelverton on Sunday morning.
