IT was another busy weekend for members of Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) as they took part in three events last weekend.
In the Plymouth half marathon starts and finishes on the Hoe in a 13.1mile journey around Plymouth. First Bat male Bat home was Leigh Cossey-Haggar and first lady for the club was Fran Morgan.
The second race of the weekend was the 8.21 miles Haldon Heartbeat. The Heartbeat starts at Exeter racecourse and heads out through woods and heath land before finishing back at the racecourse. Starting the race and presenting prizes was British long-distance runner Jo Pavey.
Taking part in this event was husband and wife Rebecca and Paul Mingo. Rebecca ran an excellent race and was first lady home in a superb time of 59.25 with Paul finishing in 1.18.52.
At Fountain Abbey 10k in York Ruth MacIntyre was the lone Batand finished in a great time of 53.52mins.
Bats will next be flying at their own event this weekend, the Bere Pen 10k.
