Okehampton Argyle 2

Totnes and Dartington 2

THIS game was a wonderful advert for step seven football, as both teams put defending on hold for the first 45 minutes.

Totnes gave the first real talking point of the match when a rasping drive from 25 yards hit the cross bar, Mulholland got down well from the resulting rebound to save well from Rimmer.

After this wake-up call, Okehampton went on the rampage producing save after save by the guest's keeper Woods.

His best was a one handed save down low, after a close range header by Matt Mortimer.

Their stopper also made a superb double save to thwart Mortimer and Ausden.

Alas Okehampton could not score from any of these chances, and with time running out before the interval Totnes took the lead.

A deep cross from the left was headed back over Mulholland by Rimmer at the back post.

The second half was not as good as the first, but it did have plenty of chances.

The first one of these fell to the Okehampton, Mortimer once again had the chance when somehow his effort was cleared off the line with the net beckoning.

Shortly after this chance the away side scored their second of the afternoon, Wilson beating his marker at the near post to poke the ball home.

Totnes and Dartington should have gone on and won this game but this was not going to happen.

There was a huge slice of luck helping Okehampton start their comeback, when a hopeful ball tossed into the penalty area was headed into his own net by the away team's centre-half.

Argyle's equalizer was scored by Brad Ausden.

When the ball fell to him twelve yards on the diagonal, he smacked the ball past the man of the match Woods.

This goal gave Argyle the point they deserved.
