PROFESSIONAL snooker player Andy Hicks, played an exhibition match at the Tavy Club in Tavistock on Friday entertaining a crowd of more than a 100 spectators.

The 17 challengers, playing one frame against the former World Champtionship semi-finalist, were made up of Tavistock snooker league players and other players of note from Plymouth and Launceston.

The crowd were treated to 14 breaks over 40 plus three centuries by Andy, 105, 120 and 131. Andy was unlucky in the13th frame when he miscued playing the black on 92 with a possible 142 available.

At the end of the evening Andy presented prizes for the best shot of the night to Rodney Woods and the best player of the night to Mark Chubb, who had fluked the black only to see the white ball go in-off.

The lucky players who got to challenge Andy were; Andy Ridgeman, Aaron Grainger, Mark Chubb, Duanne Carruthers, Angus Stewart, Dean Anderson, Scott Dent, Kevin "Nuggett" Rich, Rodney Woods, Mark Hembry, "the other" Andy Hicks, Barrie Blatchford, Nigel Ryall, Dave Hoar, Kris Clarke, Nathan Endeen and Emma Chubb.

The event was organised by Mike Symons, end everyone's thanks go to him for such a superb evening.
