WEST Devon marathon man Adam Holland has set his sights on perhaps his greatest running challenge yet - a 860 mile run from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
The endurance runner, who has completed more than 300 marathons, has won more marathons than anyone else in the UK and is in the top five for marathon wins.
The 30 year-old from Tavistock aims to complete the phenomenal feat in just 17 days - pounding his way across Scotland and England in an average of 50 miles per day.
Former Tavistock College student Adam, who now lives in Newark in Nottinghamshire, will be inspired by raising money for the charity Kids Run Free.
He said: ‘I am fundraising for a great children’s charity which creates running opportunities for children, igniting their passion for sport and encouraging them to be healthier, happier and more confident. A cause that is close to my heart. Every child deserves the opportunity to realise their potential through running, no matter their ability or age.
Kids Run Free is a charity that creates free, fun and sustainable outdoor running opportunities for children, from toddlers to teens, igniting their passion for sport and physical activity and encouraging them to become healthier, happier, and more confident.
Adam has a target of £4,500 to raise for the charity and if people wish to donate they can though his website at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Tango
