MARATHON man Adam Holland is one of the many entrants ready to take on the Dartmoor Discovery 2017 challenge on Saturday.

The 32 miles 674 yards run is the UK’s longest single lap road ultra marathon.

Adam, who now lives in Nottingham, but originally from Tavistock, said last week: ‘It’s starting to get a bit exciting with just over a week to go! I will be doing this event at the same time celebrating my 300th Marathon/Ultra.

‘I can’t wait to be home in Devon.’

The course record is held by John Ward of Bideford AC when he ran 3 hours 29 minutes 24 seconds —Adams previous runs, in which he finished fourth in both, 4.16.13 in 2011 and 4.05.28 in 2012.
