AT the Kelly College annual sports day the events were well contested and pupils battled hard for medal positions.

Luke Webster had a fruitful day in the senior boys' field events. He finished with gold in both the shot-put and discus. In the senior girls' Eleanor Partington finishing with three golds in the 300m hurdles, 100m and triple jump.

Dylan Cowell and Kirsty Farquharson both shone in the intermediate events. Dylan won the 100m, 200m and long jump, while Kirsty won the 300m hurdles, 100m and triple jump.

Harry Turner won gold in 100m, 400m and the high jump.

In the relay Courtenay House emerged as winners for the boys while the girls Russell House secured the over-all win. It was a similar affair for the younger competitors, with Mrs Sarah Baldock's team winning first place.
