ON Sunday a former Tavistock resident Alison Bradley (pictured) set a new women's world record for running across America.
On May 6 Alison, known as Ace, started her run from New York to Los Angeles raising money for Cancer Relief, and to attempt to set a new world record.
Ace arrived in LA a new world record holder on Saturday, July 13 after running 2,800 miles.
Her father Steve Bradley, flew from New Zealand to support her over the last week or two.
Ace was born in Tavistock and attended Tavistock Primary School but moved to New Zealand with her family and spent her student days in America.
