THOUSANDS of cyclists rode through Bedford Square in Tavistock on Sunday during their ride in The Dartmoor Classic Sportive. The event, which was established in 2007 and organised by the Mid-Devon Cycling Club, is widely recognised as the most prestigious open-road cycling event in the UK. It attracted riders from all over the country. Participants had the choice of three routes — The Grande (107 miles), the Medio (67 miles) or the Piccolo (38 miles) — each route starts from Newton Abbot racecourse taking in some of the most stunning scenary to be found in and around Dartmoor National Park.
