OPM A 0

Tavistock Men's Firsts 6

TAVISTOCK maintained top spot in South 2 with an away victory to a hard-working OPM side.

With the game at 0-1 at half time it was yet again the second half performance of Tavistock that enabled them to run out comfortable winners.

The first half goal came from in-form utility player Ollie Richards who converted from close range. Things could have been different if it had not been for the impressive OPM's keeper who made a number of fine saves to deny Fenwick, Honey, Jones and Megicks.

The Reds started the second half as they had played the first, with quick passing to penetrate the home defence. The rewards came thanks to two goals in quick succession from Megicks and Fenwick.

Defender Paul Marchant won the ball and quickly turned defence into attack with a cross field pass to find Fenwick, who in turn found man of the match Megicks in the D who deflected the ball in the roof of the net.

The game was held up following an unfortunate head injury to one of the OPM defenders, but both sides did well to return to the pitch and continue to play in the fast flowing way they did following the break in the game.

Quick attacks down the right hand side late on gave Tavistock their final two goals of the game from Megicks and Shephard respectively.
