THE date for the Son-Rise Cup for Autism Football Festival 2012 has been provisionally set for May 19 and 20, 2012.

Allen Lewis, the event founder and organiser, with the help of local businessmen and women, is determined to take the festival to new heights and make profits to help good local causes.

The cup was set up to promote autism awareness and to increase the involvement of disability football into new areas in Devon and with the FA having granted permission to use their new logo for the event on medals posters and banners, public awareness will be at a new high.

Allen, and both the business and football committee which are running the event, hope to use every sports facility available including the Tavistock Community Sports Centre, Tavistock AFC and Tavistock community FC's pitches. To help expand, the 2012 event will be inviting more teams to enter and more businesses to advertise and have trade stalls.

The Men's Devon FA Son-Rise cup Tournament will be held on the Sunday with two 7-aside leagues with semi-final and final rounds to decide the winner.

The adult Ability Counts league will play for the Clifton Towl Son-Rise Cup and the more severely disabled will play for the Karen Bell Cup.

Allen Lewis said, 'I am confident that with all the professional help on our committee we will give Devon a football festival on a scale never seen before. roll on 2012!'
