Lifton 4 South Zeal Utd 7 ZEAL started this friendly well and took the lead after 10 minutes when a through ball from Harley Cann put Redd Cann through. Redd?s shot looked as if it was going over the line but John Halliday, following up, made sure and slid the ball over the line. The game then turned and Lifton dominated the next half hour and scored four goals before half time and started the second half 4-1 up. Zeal could only get better. After a few changes with Tom Reilly moving into mid-field and Ricky Wooldridge and Redd Cann acting as wing backs, Zeal took control of the second half. They scored six goals without reply. Lee Gilbert scored two, while Harley Cann, Alan Brimacombe and Alan Vile netted one each. The best goal of the game, from Reg Wonnacott, saw Zeal through to a well deserved victory.
