Jackson Vending Devon & Exeter Senior 4
South Zeal Utd 4
Okehampton Seconds 0
A GOOD crowd saw South Zeal get their revenge against Okehampton on Saturday after losing a close game earlier in the season.
Both sides have been doing well in the league but it was Zeal that looked the more threatening early on with Steve Pillivant and Harley Cann causing the Okehampton defence problems.
Zeal took the lead after ten minutes when Harley Cann picked up a ball 30 yards from goal, beat several defenders and finished with a superb strike from 18 yards that gave keeper Scott Leyman no chance.
Okehampton came more into the game, forcing good saves from Neil Clift in the Zeal goal. The Zeal defence started to get a stranglehold on the Okehampton forwards and the home side went two up ten minutes before half-time when Shaun Hiscock broke down the right and fired home.
In the second half Zeal dominated and they scored their third when Steve Pillivant volleyed home a corner taken by Garry Smith.
Okehampton were forced to concede two penalties, both well saved by Scott Leyman but the excellent keeper was eventually beaten again when Harley Cann broke down the right and sent in a cross-cum-shot which Alan Vile converted at the far post.
This week home to Newtown, kick-off 3pm.
