MAY I once again through the newspaper thank the people of Okehampton for their continued support of Save the Children Fund.
Recently we have held three events to raise the profile of SCF during and leading up to SCF week 2002.
An animal quiz raised £118 and was won by Mrs C Cornwall who achieved 93 correct answers.
Next, a quiz night held at the Plume of Feathers, Okehampton, raised £128. We are very grateful to Nigel and the 'Plume' for allowing us the use of the room and the bar facility during the evening.
It was a very friendly, happy evening and we say a big thank you to Margaret and Peter Southcott for their organisation of a superb quiz.
Finally, the street collection on Saturday April 27 raised £286 58, many thanks to the collectors and those who gave so generously. Once again the total has increased.
Thank you everyone for all your help behind the scenes; your chairman really does appreciate it.
