THIS month sees the relaunch of Okehampton's Young Parents group — as Mini Me. The reformed group has been developed especially for young parents aged 24 and under and their children, and will provide free activities and information in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Sessions will run at Parklands on Thursdays from 12 to 2pm. Toys will be provided, and a range of exciting activities is planned for both parents and children in the coming months, including trips out, paediatric first aid sessions, music, arts and crafts. Most importantly, the group will provide a social meeting space for young parents and will provide parenting advice and support. Group leader Cassie de Courcy said: 'New members are always welcome whether they are mums, dads, parents-to-be or even a young carer looking after babies or children,' she said.
