I AM shocked at the comments expressed by the mayor of Okehampton (Times, May 6) in response to the closure of Rumours Nightclub.
Being in a prime location to attract tourist income, surely Okehampton deserves more than a social club and a clothes market for the over 50's?
As a newcomer to the West Country, I believe this pretty town could be so much more with a young, fresh strategy and support and investment from the local authority.
Does anyone share my view?
